About 25 percent of adults received a massage from a massage therapist in 2016 according to a Zogby Analytics January 2017 survey of consumers. Although 22% of clients report that their very last massage occurred at a spa, there are numerous places where a massage can take place. That’s where mobile massage therapists are changing the landscape of massage.

Mobile massage occurs when a massage therapist sets up portable massage equipment (table massage, chair massage, etc.) at a location determined by the client.

The three main locations for mobile massage, aka on-site massage or outcalls are:

  • Homes
  • Offices, and
  • Hotels
